Lesson Description:  In this lesson, students will critically examine kayaking as a sport. A short video will highlight the benefits of kayaking. Students will use this introduction to write a persuasive letter to their PE teacher advocating the inclusion of kayaking in the school’s physical education programme. Students will be encouraged to use persuasive language and logical arguments, drawing on evidence to support the physical and mental benefits of kayaking. This lesson encourages critical thinking, persuasive writing and effective communication skills.

Lesson Question: Write a persuasive letter to the head of your school’s P.E. teacher advocating the benefits of kayaking and why it should be introduced into the school’s curriculum.
