Lesson Description: Cowboys. Students will reflect on personal experiences and emotions by engaging with an old photograph from the 1930s. Through a creative writing exercise, students will imagine discovering a photo in an elderly relative’s home and describing their initial reactions and conversation with the relative. This exercise encourages descriptive writing skills, empathy, and historical awareness. It also promotes creativity and expressive abilities, as well as the ability to connect with others across generational divides.
